About

Hi, this is my blog where I intend to post my poetry, write about travels and my studies as well as occasionally generally splurge my musings. I got the name for it from a graphic the BBC used after Spain were knocked out of the 2014 World Cup; I had intended the first post to be about how I thought their unceremonious first-round exit occurred because their tiki-taka strategy had become too static and easy to counter due to ageing players. Unfortunately I got distracted and never got round to writing up that particular tactical insight. Three years later, I decided it felt right to begin it with the same title but I wasn’t sure why, so it is in part an adventure to work out what it means, if anything. Perhaps I’ll start writing narrative pieces from the perspective of a late-15th century Orthodox peasant. Or a 5th century Roman merchant. Or a fictional post-Suez Crisis British politician. The possibilities are endless, so buckle your seat-belt Dorothy because Kansas is going bye-bye.
